Browne is known for his retro-preppy suits and trousers which bear a look that is both bygone and forward-thinking.  Trademarks are trousers (often referred to as “high-water”) tailored always a bit short, narrow-tailored jackets, and sockless shoes.

In 2006 Brooks Brothers asked Thom Browne to begin a line to be sold at their flagship stores. In 2007, Browne debuted “Black Fleece” by Brooks Brothers.
